Been gone and now I'm back!

The past few months have been another journey through the fire and we are all coming through it little by little. The tragic death of my son-in-law has turned lives around and up side down. But, with God all of us are blessed.

Prayers for friends and families

Today after speaking and praying with my Pastor I am filled with the hope and love of Jesus Christ. These days are not easy and I know that I am walking in The Rabbi's dust. So wherever he is I am better than OK. I am blessed. It is God who works in me to will and to act according to his good purpose. Phillippians 2:12

AMEN

Walking in God's Circle of Blessings

Thanking God for the abundance in my life. I am blessed beyond measure! I have wonderful family and friends who help me when I stumble and praise me when I stand up. I only hope that I can even get close to being like my daughter. The love my daughter shows for others as she walks thru and deals with the tragedy in her life of losing her husband is extraordinary. I love her so much!

Dinner Downtown Louisville

Last night Hank and Jen took me to dinner at an Italian restaurant in downtown Louisville. Our mode of travel was by bicycle. Pretty cool thing to do. Food was good and after a large glass of wine my ride back home up the hill was a bit taxing, but I made it. It is really fun to be able to walk to town to the farmers market or to have dinner with so many great restaurants to choose from. There are sidewalk cafes and live music with bikes and dogs tied up to the lampposts. Afterwards we relaxed at home watching the taped Tour de France and stood up and screamed and hollered at the end.
Ahhhhhh. Sweet dreams..........til we meet again......

Hamburgers, Hot Dogs and Homemade Ice Cream

My son fixed me up with a bike yesterday. Me and the grandchildren went for a late evening ride. First time I've been on a really great bike in quite a few years. It was great fun! We followed all kinds of trails and I really had no idea where I was most of the time. We really needed that ride or rather, I really needed that ride after the meal we had. The kids and especially Henry wanted to keep me guessing on where we were. Rachel and Mark were hanging with me for the most part.
We had so much fun gathering veggies from the garden and cooking and churning vanilla custard ice cream.
The temp is rising and today we are looking at 100 degrees. It still feels better than Ga 100 degree heat.
I sneaked in an awesome nap, too!

Tubing and Rio

Saturday we also went tubing on a creek in Boulder. Then to dinner with a total of 6 kids and 4 adults at a restaurant called Rio with yummy mexican food. Then after walking on Pearl Street and getting ice cream it was time to leave. THEN THE FUN REALLY BEGAN! I'm not sure if it was the sugar in the ice cream or the beautiful weather but all of a sudden there was a race going on with everyone carrying everyone piggy back thru the streets of Boulder. Jen ended up carrying all the stuff while I ran to get pictures of these lunatics!

Sunday in Colorado

Starting the day like a family Sunday. Lazy and easy. Boys are in the computer room jamming with some really cool music. Rachel, my 14 yr old grand-daughter, soon to take driving lessons is inspired to make a Korean dish called Galbi Jjim while playing Korean music! Mom and Gramma Sam"me" are watching since we are true Southern cooks. This recipe calls for short ribs which have substitute Bison ribs and all kinds of spices, kiwi, pears, potatoes and on and on. This should be interesting! Hank and Jen are in the organic garden pulling weeds. We got one squash with many more coming soon and gigantic tomato plants. The dog likes to eat the strawberries so they have been covered with chicken wire to prevent the thief from getting to them. Another beautiful day!

Biking, gardening and playing

The day started with Jen cycling and running at 5:30 this morning. Tooooo early for me!
Had my coffee around 7:30 and the clan began to rise. First, Copper the dog and then my son and the troops. As always there is constant motion and action. Great for the soul. We'll be walking downtown soon.
ps Rachel did a great job on a lampshade she made. Will post a photo soon.
See ya later!

The Beaches Prayer

Hi Everyone,

I just had the opportunity to have a conversation with a wonderful customer of ours who passes thru Colquitt on her way to her home, the beach. We, of course, discussed the situation on our beautiful Gulf Shores. Truly, the whole situation stinks! But, let's help our neighbors and fellow citizens. The beaches are open and businesses need our help to stay open. She and her husband own a BBQ restaurant called Billy Bob's Beach BBQ in Gulf Breeze, Fl and they sure are feeling the effects of this man-made disaster!
Please think of them and their neighbors. Frequent our beaches and it's businesses. They need us too!
So, I urge you to visit our beaches. Pray a lot! Pray for BP. Pray for the animals and the habitat. PRAY and do what you can to help!
God bless us all and we thank our Lord and Saviour for his loving kindness. We are blessed beyond measure. Help us to take care of and be good stewards of all that he has given us. We pray in Jesus name. Amen

When Pigs Fly "A Boutique"

A new week and The Bus Station Gallery is "hoppin"! This painting was done by my partner, Lori. We named my little Boutique "When Pigs Fly" because it is always a wonderful and unexpected thing when pigs fly! And when this venture was started I never dreamed such a fun and quirky opportunity was in store for all of us. So, with love and lots of prayers and we are flying high! Praise the Lord for only He knows the plans He has for us.

Beach Fun

I have these dresses in several colors and they are cool and fun. Perfect for a day at the Beach!

Saturday in South Georgia in June

Taking time with the Lord early and getting into the Word and praying. Best possible way to start the day! As a matter of fact the only way.
Talking with neighbors, watering roses and "hanging out" at The Bus Station Gallery in Colquitt, Ga. People passing thru on their way to the beaches and riding thru the country side to stop and inquire about Swamp Gravy.
A friend and neighbor is making her special cornbread to take to the beach and put baking soda, instead of baking powder in the mixture. We're debating how it will turn out. She'll go get baking powder from my cupboard and then we'll see what happens after she adds it. It's only 2:07pm and I look forward to the rest of the day and am thankful for everything today.
We'll unload a huge bag of birdseed from the trunk when I get home. Life is good.

First Day

It's a great day in Georgia at The Bus Station in Colquitt, Ga. The weather is hot and the air is humid. It's Summertime and the "livin' is easy". And, yes, I love that song. Everyday I am grateful for the friends and family that surround me here in this deepest part of Southwest Georgia. I have been other places and experienced life from so many perspectives and this is truly a blessed place. I'll try to take you on my journey and hopefully you will find what we do interesting and fun. Stay tuned!!!
